She was drawn to the medium for its vibrancy and the way it encourages both exploration and confidence in the process. Her pieces start with research and thoughtful composition, then unfold through layers of dye that move fluidly across the surface, expertly balancing technical precision with creative unpredictability. Alongside this work, she creates encaustic paintings using heated wax, building up textured, layered surfaces that contrast with the softness of silk. Saturday is the last day to see 5 of her beautiful pieces in person at our Main Gallery show “The Wonder of It.” We’re open from 10am-8pm today! #artgallery #artistfeature #galleryshow".

This work is hand painted on jacquard silk with the serti method. As it typical with this type of work, photographs just don’t do justice. When our Juror saw the piece in person, she insisted that an Award be given.

Of her work, Debbi says, “I cherish childhood memories, wandering through lush grasslands alive with insects, amphibians, and birds. This artwork aims to inspire individuals to cultivate native plants in their gardens and abandon outdoor pesticides. I aspire to ignite conversation and advocate for restoring biodiversity.”
